Build Your List Using Squidoo

I know your asking what is Squidoo. In this article you are going to learn what squidoo is and how to use it to drive traffic to your site.

One of the top 500 closely watched sites by Alexa, Squido founded by Speaker and Author Seth Godin is a network of user generated pages which they call lenses.

Lenses can give your point of view, recommendations or expertise on any subject.

Using Squidoo to drive Traffic.

You will need to take the following steps:

Setup a Squidoo Account. Create your lense. Add a link to your squeeze page.

Go here to signup for your squidoo account http://www.squidoo.com then choose the signup link at the top.

It is easy to design you page using Squidoo as they have a modular design. The basic modules are You Tube Videos, Text list, Orbitz, Text/Write, RSS, Link List, Google Blog Search, Guest Book, Flickr photos, Del.ico.us bookmarks, and Ebay.

There are other categories which contain additional modules. Plexo, New!, Money and Search A-Z

Squidoo has a very nice revenue sharing module. Your site modules and adsense ads will generate money and you can contribute that to charity, take it all for yourself or split it between charity and yourself.

It has been said that if you give your proceeds to chartiy or at least share it you will get better rankings. I've not tested this but I give a portion to charity just because it makes me feel better. Making money with squidoo is not the focus of this article but it is a nice to know. We are using squidoo to get people to signup for our list.

You will need to have a link to your site. You can do this by using the introduction or using the text module. Including a free report here is also a good idea.

Let's take a look at a completed squidoo page. As you visit my page how about giving it a quick rank by clicking on the stars. 5 stars is the best.

To get your site ranked higher the ranking system is how you will get your site listed higher in the listings. Which will give you more traffic.

You can raise this ranking by sending people to come and rank your lense just as I have asked you to rank mine. Also you can join groups within the squidoo system to help promote your lense.

With a Alexa Ranking of 487 having a page on squidoo will most certainly get listed in the search engines.
